Established in 2009, Geronimo is an industry-leading provider of content managed websites and business consultancy services for automotive OEMs, distributors and dealerships around the world.
Currently deployed in over 1,800 franchised dealerships, sub-dealerships and service only centres throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
All clients are supported from our UK head office by a dedicated team of multi-lingual Digital Content Managers who work around the clock in their mother tongue, their clients time zone and on a local rate telephone number to deliver the 4 key areas of our Online Marketing Programmes.
Why was the Geronimo business set up?
In 2009, Jackie Lawton, the founder and CEO identified a significant opportunity within the automotive sector. She set up Geronimo as a specialist digital marketing agency with the aim to provide an alternative approach to online retail for automotive OEM’S and their global dealer networks. Offering a multilingual, full service programme in local languages and then personalised to local cultures and businesses.
Whilst this approach was incredibly complex in terms of its delivery, the idea was relatively simple; to provide a true digital marketing and consultancy service exclusively to the automotive industry, designed to better support and control the online marketing activities of car manufacturers (“OEMs”) and the retail dealerships that represent them.
Jackie felt that a huge opportunity existed for an agency to engage with and represent OEMs and dealers on a countrywide basis, thereby giving brand consistency and 360° visibility of all digital dealer activity to the OEM across an entire market. At the same time giving dealers the ability to personalise their own individual online presence. In essence, the manufacturers needed control over their brand whilst the local dealers required the flexibility to promote their own brand and local services.
Having spent many years working at board level in the dealer side of the automotive industry before going on to take a lead role with Mercedes-Benz, Jackie was ideally placed to understand the needs of both parties and therefore capitalise on this considerable and exciting market opportunity.
